Medical Assistant

Where You'd Work:
In outpatient settings such as physicians' offices, group practices, or clinics; also, in some outpatient surgery centers.

What You'd Do:

	Assist with exams, procedures, and treatments.
	Collect and process specimens.
	Perform routine diagnostic tests.
	Prepare and administer medications.
	Schedule, coordinate, and monitor patient appointments.
	Process and manage insurance claims, receivables and payables.
	Transcribe physician's notes into permanent chart documentation.
	Prepare and maintain patients' medical records.
	Instruct patients in health-related issues.

You'd Be in Training for: 11 months
