Surgical Technologist

Where You'd Work:
In surgery suites of hospitals and outpatient surgery centers, in OB wards where C-sections are performed, in some emergency departments, and in surgical instrument/supply rooms.

What You'd Do:

	Prepare and clean the operating room for each procedure.
	Prepare and maintain a sterile field.
	Select and open sterile supplies for each procedure.
	Assemble, adjust, and check non-sterile equipment.
	Operate the sterilizer and other equipment.
	Position and prep the patient.
	Pass instruments and other items during surgery.
	Assist the anesthesiologist.
	Apply dressings and prepare specimens for pathologic analysis.

You'd Be in Training for:  11 months
